Not all US parcels attract tariffs, but should yours be charged on arrival, we’ve got you. Send us a copy of your paid receipt at hello@lumiereshades.com and we’ll reimburse 50% of the fee promptly.

Yes, we do. Every shade is packed
carefully by hand in our Bali studio and sent via DHL to your door, wherever
you are in the world. International shipping is complimentary on all orders.
If your shade is in stock, it will be on its way within three days.
If your shade is made to order, we allow one to two weeks in the studio before dispatch. Every piece is made by hand, so good things take a little time. Production windows can shift depending on what we’re working on, so if you need your shade by a specific date, reach out and we’ll give you an honest timeframe.
Once it leaves Bali, delivery typically takes four to six working days depending on your location and customs clearance.

We’re not able to offer expedited shipping from Bali at this time. All orders travel via DHL international, which is the most reliable service from our studio. We ship as promptly as we can and will always keep you updated along the way.
Ordering
Every Lumiere shade is made individually by hand, from preparing the linen to assembling the final piece.
Nothing is mass produced or held in bulk. It’s what ensures the quality of every piece that leaves our studio, and it’s why what arrives in your home is genuinely one of a kind.
Each shade arrives carefully packed from our studio in Bali. Your linen pendant shade is packed with care. Some of our
designs include a metal stretcher to hold their form; others are intentionally
frameless and drop naturally into shape once hung. If a stretcher isn’t included with your shade, that’s by design.
Please allow for shades and cables to arrive in separate packages on different days, as they are packed and dispatched independently. Bulbs are not included with any order.
Shades are sold on their own, without electrical cords. We offer a small curated range of cord sets chosen to complement our designs beautifully. Browse the full range in our accessories collection and select the finish that suits your space.
If you’d prefer everything together, our pendant kits pair the shade and cord in a single order.
You have 48 hours from placing your order to request a cancellation. After that, production will have begun and we’re unable to cancel. If your order has already shipped, please refer to our returns policy for next steps.
Because every shade is made to order for you, we’re unable to accept returns or offer exchanges for change of mind, incorrect sizing, or ordering errors. We encourage you to reach out before purchasing. Our team is genuinely happy to help you find the right size, colour, and style for your space, so you can order with confidence.

Custom sizing is offered to our wholesale clients ordering at minimum quantities and is not available for individual retail purchases. If you’re uncertain whether a standard size will suit your space, get in touch and we’ll help you find the right fit.
Yes. We now offer shades up to 120cm in both the Luna and Empire designs. At this scale, they make a genuine statement, ideal for double-height spaces, generous dining rooms, or any room where you want the light to be the defining moment.
Both are structured rattan shades, distinguished by one detail: the Empire has tighter, closer-set ribbing, giving it a slightly more defined and geometric silhouette. The Luna has a softer, more open weave. Both are beautiful; the choice comes down to the feeling you’re after.
Not all of our shades include a frame. The following models are packed with a built-in metal stretcher: Empire, Luna, Dixon, Nelson, Oscar, Up&Away & Embla shade.
Our remaining designs are intentionally frameless. Their organic, unstructured form is part of what makes them special, and they settle into shape naturally once hung.
A warm-toned LED bulb with a colour temperature of 2200 to 2700K and a maximum output of 15W. This produces
the soft, amber warmth that our shades are designed to hold and diffuse beautifully.
US and Canada customers: our cords are wired for 220 to 240V. You will need a
120V E27 bulb, available from local lighting suppliers.
Perfectly normal. Handcrafted linen shades can shift during packing and transit, and will need a little time to settle once they arrive. Hang your shade and allow a couple of days for the linen to relax into its intended form naturally.
If your shade came with a metal stretcher, fit it inside before hanging. The frame holds the shape of the shade and should always be the first step.
Our cord sets come in a small, considered range of finishes. Our two best sellers are the linen-covered cord and the jute cord. Both sit naturally alongside our linen shades, contributing warmth and quiet texture without drawing the eye away from the shade itself.
As a general guide, match the cord
to the material of the shade rather than the dominant colour of the room.
Installation
Our pendant shades are designed to work with two installation methods, so they suit most spaces and living situations.
•Ceiling-mounted shades connect directly to an existing hardwired ceiling rose. A canopy cover plate sits flush against the ceiling and neatly conceals the fitting. This gives the cleanest and most permanent result.
•Plug-in installation requires no electrician. The pendant cord connects directly to a standard wall socket, making it a practical choice for renters or rooms where rewiring isn’t an option. The visible cord becomes part of the composition; run it intentionally along the wall using small cord clips
for a considered finish.
A swag installation allows you to hang a pendant in rooms without a ceiling rose, by looping the cord over a ceiling hook before dropping to a wall socket. Done well, it looks entirely intentional.
Fix a ceiling hook into a joist above your chosen hanging point, or use a toggle anchor rated for the weight of the shade. Feed the cord through the canopy, loop it over the hook, and allow it to drape naturally toward the wall. The depth of the loop controls how much cord is visible. A generous swag has an easy, relaxed quality. Run the cord along the wall with cord clips for a neater finish.
All Lumiere cord sets are wired for 220 to 240V. Customers in the US, Canada, or other 110 to 120V countries will need a locally sourced 120V E27 bulb and should confirm compatibility with their electrician prior to installation. We recommend reaching out before ordering so we can talk you through what’s needed.
All of our shades are fitted with a standard 4cm ring as standard, which positions the bulb toward the top of the shade. This creates a soft ambient glow that falls gently downward through the fabric.
For a more centred position, which produces an even, balanced light, our cable clip accessory adjusts the drop accordingly. It’s available separately or as part of a pendant kit.
As every shade is made to order and we’re unable to accept returns for sizing, it’s worth taking time to measure before you buy.
•Above a dining table: a shade diameter of roughly half the table width is a reliable starting point. An oversized shade hung low creates a dramatic anchor and a genuinely intimate atmosphere. Over a long rectangular table, a cluster of three shades at varying heights works beautifully.
•Bedside pendants: shades in the 20 to 30cm range, hung at eye level when
seated, are low enough to read by and unobtrusive enough to live with easily.
•Hallways and entries: choose larger than feels instinctive. A generous shade in a hallway transforms the space from an afterthought into something considered.
•Drop height: maintain at least 210cm of clearance from the floor in
any walkable space. Above a dining table, the base of the shade should sit
approximately 75 to 80cm above the surface.

Post Purchase
Our linen and fabric shades are spot-clean only. Do not submerge in water or machine wash. For everyday dust, a soft dry cloth is all that’s needed. For marks, a barely damp cloth applied gently to the affected area is usually enough. Always allow the shade to dry completely before turning the light back on.
Rattan and structured shades can be wiped with a dry or very lightly damp cloth. Prolonged moisture should be avoided on all woven and natural materials.
