Every Lumière Shade is handmade to order - crafted with care, not pulled from a warehouse. Because of that, out return policy balances flexibility for you and fairness to our makers.

Returns & Exchanges
Every Lumiere shade is crafted by hand in our Bali studio — slowly, carefully, and using natural materials chosen for both their beauty and longevity.

Because of this, we place a strong emphasis on helping you choose the right piece before you order. If you’re unsure, we’d always encourage you to reach out — we’re here to guide you, and getting it right the first time matters to us.

Before You Purchase
Not sure about sizing, scale, or how a shade will sit in your space?

We’re always happy to help. Whether it’s proportions, placement, or styling, our team can guide you so your piece feels considered and right for your home.

Returns
We accept returns on full-priced items within 7 days of delivery, provided the piece is:
-Unused and in original condition
-Returned in its original packaging
-Accompanied by proof of purchase

As each shade is made to order by hand, we’re unable to accept returns on custom, made-to-order, or sale items.

Working with hand-dyed linen and natural materials means that subtle variations in tone and texture are part of the character of each piece — these are not faults, but part of what makes every shade unique.

How to Return
If you’d like to initiate a return, please email us within 7 days of receiving your order.

Our team will guide you through the process and assist in making it as smooth as possible.

International Returns
As a Bali-based studio shipping globally, returns are handled through our studio or designated partners depending on location.

Return shipping costs and any associated duties or import fees are the responsibility of the customer.

If you’re unsure about anything prior to purchasing, we’re always here to help guide you — we want you to feel confident in your choice.

Refunds
Once your return has been received and reviewed, we’ll confirm the outcome with you.

Approved refunds are processed to your original payment method within 5–10 business days, excluding original shipping costs and any duties or taxes paid.

Damaged or Faulty Items
We take great care at every stage — from production through to packaging.

If your piece arrives damaged or isn’t as expected, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery, including photos of the item and packaging.

We’ll review this promptly and arrange the most appropriate resolution — whether that’s a replacement, repair, or refund.

Change of Mind Returns
1. We accept returns for store credit on change-of-mind orders.
2.
A 15% restocking fee applies to help cover artisan production time and quality-control costs.
3.
Returned items must be unused, in original packaging, and received within 30 days.
4. Store credits are valid for 12 months and can be used toward any future purchase. 
 
Damaged or Incorrect Items.
If your order arrives damaged or incorrect, please email us with photos within 7 days. We'll replace of refund immediately - no fees, no fuss. 

Custom Orders & Electrical Cable
Custom-size and electrical cables are final sale and not eligible for return unless damaged or faulty. 
Unfortunately, we cannot verify if the components have been used or tampered with, and maintaining the integrity of our products is our top priority.

Refunds
Refunds are processed via store credit unless the item is faulty or we are at fault. You'll receive a confirmation once your return has been processed. 

Cancellation Policy 

At Lumiere Shades, we understand that plans can change. However, please note that since our products are all custom orders, handmade in Bali, cancellations may not always be possible once production has begun.

You have a window of 48 hours from the time of placing your order to initiate a cancellation. If your order has already been shipped, we're unable to cancel it. However, you can still return the item following our Returns Policy.

Disclaimer
Color Variation 
We want to emphasize that the colors of our lighting fixtures may appear slightly different on your screen than in real life. Despite our best efforts to capture accurate representations, variations may occur.
If color accuracy is crucial to you, we encourage reaching out to our customer support team for guidance before making a purchase.
