What size should I choose?
The right size depends on your space and how you intend to use it. Above a dining table, a shade diameter of roughly half the table width is a reliable starting point. For bedside pendants, 20–30cm works well hung at seated eye level. In hallways and entries, go larger than feels instinctive, a generous shade transforms the space. Can I hang my shade on a sloped ceiling?
Yes. A sloped ceiling adaptor (swivel canopy) is required for pendant lights on angled ceilings and can be purchased easily on Amazon. We always recommend installation by a qualified electrician.

What fitting does this shade use?
All Lumière shades are designed for an E27 Edison socket and are compatible with LED bulbs. The pendant cord set includes the lampholder, you'll just need your choice of bulb.

Can the shades work with an E26 socket?
No. Our electrical kits are compatible with E27 sockets only. If you'd like to change the socket, we recommend consulting a qualified electrician.

How do I hang this shade?
Two installation methods are available. Hardwired installation connects directly to an existing ceiling cap. We offer canopy plates in two sizes, 10cm and 15cm, which sit flush against the ceiling for a clean, permanent finish. Plug-in installation requires no electrician; the cord runs to a standard wall socket and can be guided along the wall with small cord clips for a considered result. Both cord sets are available in the product options.

Can I customise the drop length?
Yes. Three standard cord lengths are available to purchase directly in our accessories section. If you need something outside those sizes, we can create a custom length for you. Get in touch before ordering.

What bulb do you recommend?
A warm tone bulb in the 2200–2700K range suits our shades well. All shades are compatible with LED.

My shade arrived slightly out of shape. What should I do?
This is normal for handcrafted linen. Hang the shade and allow a couple of days for the linen to relax back into form. If your shade includes a metal stretcher, fit it inside before hanging. This is always the first step.

How do I care for my shade?
Linen and fabric shades are spot-clean only. A barely damp cloth applied gently to any marks, then left to dry fully before the light is switched on. Do not submerge or machine wash. Rattan and structured shades can be wiped with a dry or lightly damp cloth. Avoid prolonged moisture on all natural materials.

Do you offer returns?
Because our shades are handcrafted and ship internationally, we're unable to accept returns for change of mind or sizing. We recommend reaching out with your room dimensions before ordering so we can help you choose with confidence.
